When traumas occur, we go into shock, recover and sometimes residual effects remain. Exposure Therapy is a great method combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reduce the energy that these traumas hold in the heart, mind and body. Should traumas remain over longer lengths of time, they can result in PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and we can get triggers by everyday occurences that would otherwise be completely benign.
A supportive environment can be essential in creating healing and moving past a trauma (or historical past traumas) and when necessary, a multi-disciplinary approach can ensure that patients get the hlep they need to reduce their suffering.
